Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try, No hell below us, Above us only sky, Imagine all the people living for today... Imagine there's no countries, It isnt hard to do, Nothing to kill or die for, No religion too, Imagine all the people living life in peace... Imagine no possesions, I wonder if you can, No need for greed or hunger, A brotherhood of man, Imagine all the people Sharing all the world... You may say Im a dreamer, but Im not the only one, I hope some day you'll join us, And the world will live as one. The shooting of John Lennon on December 8th 1980 shocked and horrified the entire world. He was gunned down outside his hotel in New York City by Mark David Chapman, a crazed fan from Honolulu. The Beatles' song "Come Together" predicted with uncanny accuracy what would happen in the days that followed — the world truly came together in grief. John Lennon is notable for more reasons than would fit in a book, and it is hard to boil his life down to a few paragraphs. However, his greatest achievement was probably bringing the Beatles to such a level of popularity that their musical message of peace and love permeated the entire culture, affecting individuals across the globe.
